And digital transformation means whole sectors, from healthcare to manufacturing, get rebuilt around new capabilities.

Here’s what that looks like in practice. In healthcare you’ll see faster, more accurate radiology summaries, not replacing doctors but making them far more effective. In finance, routine advising and fraud detection get automated, freeing people for higher-value thinking. In manufacturing, predictive maintenance will reduce downtime, saving real money (and headaches).

There are messy bits too, like regulation, job shifts, and the need for better data hygiene. I’ve seen teams struggle when they treat AI like a magic button, rather than a platform that changes workflows. Small changes in process can make a big difference.

So what next? Expect more companies to build on top of large models, more verticalized offerings, and a lot of experimentation. The future isn’t a single leap, it’s many small steps that add up. And that feels optimistic to me, because we get to shape how those steps happen.

Evans hebt drei zentrale Themen hervor: breite Verbreitung, grundlegende Verschiebungen und digitale Transformation. Die breite Verbreitung bedeutet, KI ist nicht mehr nur Forschung, sie ist Teil von Apps und Geschäftsprozessen. Die Verschiebungen betreffen die Architektur von Software, weil Modelle zum Kern werden. Und die Transformation heißt, ganze Branchen müssen ihre Abläufe neu denken (Bildung, Medizin, Produktion und mehr).

Konkrete Beispiele: in Kliniken beschleunigen KI-gestützte Berichte die Arbeit der Fachkräfte, in Banken automatisiert KI Routinetätigkeiten, in der Industrie reduziert sie ungeplante Stillstände. Gleichzeitig gibt es Herausforderungen bei Regulierung, Datenqualität und bei der Umstellung von Arbeitsprozessen.
