**Accomplish™: An Open Source AI Coworker That Lives on Your Desktop**

Have you ever wished your computer could just… handle things for you?

Not in a futuristic, take-over-the-world kind of way. I mean the small stuff. Organizing files. Creating documents. Clicking through repetitive browser tasks while you focus on actual thinking.

That’s exactly what Accomplish™ (formerly Openwork) is built for.

You can explore it here:

An AI coworker, but on your terms

Accomplish is an open source AI desktop agent that runs locally on your machine. That part matters. Your files stay on your device. You decide which folders it can access. No mysterious cloud processes poking around your data.

Setup takes about two minutes. Seriously.

You can bring your own API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or xAI, or run local models through Ollama. So whether you’re deep into GPT-4 workflows or experimenting with local models, it adapts to how you already work.

I’ve tried a lot of productivity tools over the years. Most promise magic. Many end up as another tab I forget to open. What feels different here is that Accomplish lives directly on your desktop. It’s more like a quiet coworker sitting beside you than another SaaS dashboard demanding attention.

What it actually does

Accomplish can automate:

• File management
• Document creation
• Browser tasks
• General desktop workflows

Under the hood, it uses Electron with a React interface, and it securely stores API keys in your OS keychain. If you’re technical, you’ll appreciate the architecture. If you’re not, you probably just care that it works, and that it doesn’t ship your data off somewhere without asking.

Open source, built in public

It’s released under the MIT License, and contributions are welcome. That openness changes the relationship. You’re not just a user. You’re part of something that can evolve.

We’re moving toward a world where AI doesn’t just live in the browser. It lives with us, locally, quietly assisting. Tools like Accomplish are a glimpse of that shift.

Not flashy. Not overhyped.

Just useful.
